Miss Melissa Bernadette Linskey is the valedictorian of the Class of 2005
Melissa is the daughter of Robert and Virginia Linskey of Inkerman. She is a graduate of St. John the Baptist Elementary School, Pittston and a member of St. John the Evangelist Parish, Pittston. While at Seton Catholic, Melissa was a member of the Student Council, serving as vice-president for this past school year. She held membership in the Key Club, SADD, the Drama Club, the Mission and Social Justice Club, and Mathletes. Melissa was captain of the varsity cheerleaders. Named to the honor roll each marking period, Melissa is a member of the National Honor Society and was named a National Merit Commended Student. A Diocesan Scholar, Melissa has attended classes at the University of Scranton. Melissa was a finalist in the Science category for The Times Leader Best and Brightest. An active member of her parish community, she serves as a lector, altar server, bazaar volunteer, and adult prayer group babysitter. The recipient of a Presidential Scholarship, Melissa will be attending the University of Scranton in the fall, where she will major in Biology and Spanish. Through the Medical Scholar’s Program, a cooperative program between the University of Scranton and Temple University, Melissa has been offered early assurance and contingency admission to Temple University’s School of Medicine.

Christina is the daughter of Peter and Eileen Sartorio of Pittston. She is a graduate of St. John the Baptist Elementary School, Pittston and a member of St. John the Baptist Parish, Pittston. While at Seton Catholic, Christina has been a member of the Pro-Life Club, the Key Club, SADD, the Drama Club, the Mission and Social Justice Club, and Mathletes. She served as the features editor for the Student Newspaper, The Seton Seasonal and as managing editor for the school’s Literary Magazine, The Observer. Named each marking period to the school’s honor roll, Christina is a member of the National Honor Society and was named a Scranton Times Scholastic Superstar and a semi-finalist in the Science and Environment category for The Times Leader Best and Brightest. A Diocesan Scholar, she attended classes at Kings College. Christina will be attending the University of Notre Dame in the fall where she is a recipient of the University Scholarship. She will be majoring in Biological Sciences.
The Officers of the Class of 2005 were: president, Ann Theresa Kaluzavich; vice-president, Candice Marie Cernera; secretary, Laura Ann Elizabeth Rogo; and treasurer, Michael Steven Luke Vaccaro.
The members of the Class of 2005 garnered $3.2 million in academic scholarships.

The accomplishments of the Seton graduates is not only a reflection of the excellence of Seton Catholic High School, but of all the feeder schools in the Region 7 of the Diocese of Scranton, as well: Holy Rosary School, Duryea; Sacred Heart of Jesus School, Dupont, PA; St. Mary's Assumption, Pittston, PA; Wyoming Area Catholic School, Exeter, PA; and, of course, our two beloved elementary Catholic parocial schools which we lost last year, St. John the Baptist School in Pittston and Saint Mary's School in Avoca, PA. These schools are among the finest of all public, private and/or parochial schools in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.
